Shimla is located on the slopes of lower Himalayas and its altitude from the sea level makes it quite a cool place. The temperature of this place does not usually go beyond 25 degrees during the summers which are often marked by rainfall. Winters are cold and freezing winds from the upper Himalayas make the place chilled. The last week of December is mostly marked by snowfall. Though numerous tourists yearn to see snowfall in the region but it is not easy because the roads to Shimla are usually blocked by snow. The best season to visit Shimla is between April and August and also from December to January for those who wish to experience the snow. October and November are also favorable months to bask in the glory of Shimla. Reaching Shimla is also not much of a trouble. The place is well connected with airports and railway stations. You can also reach Shimla through bus or car depending on the distance and expense.
